InsurePay is a leading Insuretech SaaS platform that enables the accuracy of premiums, integrated payments, and reconciliations in real time for Agencies, Carriers, MGAs, and insurance technology providers. As a part of the rejuvenation of the company’s brand after few acquisitions, it was the company’s goal to create a video detailing payments used to be made in the insurance industry, and the company’s fit as a leader of the evolution of those processes in a digital and data driven landscape.

Concept/Strategy

Conceptualizing the video began with a lot of market research to see not only what competitors have done in the space, but to find what makes a genuinely captivating brand recognition video. To set InsurePay apart from its competitors, I took the philosophy of producing a non-scripted video that speaks to its viewers on a human-to-human level to increase engagement. Forgetting all the constraints of a typical corporate style video, where interviewees read directly from a teleprompter, we came to the conclusion that what works best is off the cuff conversation. We planned for the video to feature three of the company’s executives sitting together in a casual space without scripts, to bring out authenticity in their answers and smiles on their faces. The questions were planned to guide the conversation in a way that would clearly deliver our message and keep the viewers’ attention.

Filming/Direction/Production/Editing

As primarily a team of one with an assistant to help with the interview and planning, this project truly let me put all of my skills to the test. From concept to completion, I was able to successfully purchase the needed equipment, plan and guide three distinct personalities, manage multiple cameras along with lighting and audio equipment, and then edit a mountain of footage and audio to craft a compelling story. We were only on site for a day for this project, so a lot of moving pieces had to come together, and I’m happy to say they did.

Conclusion

I learned a lot from this project and how I could improve my own workflows. It’s not typical to have 3 people on camera at once for an interview so this project was a special challenge that I am proud to have executed on. The InsurePay team was ecstatic with the result and plans to embed the video onto their website and into their future campaigns.
