Visual & Print Design
The Buffalo News was the first steppingstone of my career out of college. I worked there for five years in the creative services department where I lead design in various Buffalo News publications (Buffalo Magazine, Buffalo Bridal Planner, etc.), designed advertisements, as well as designed collateral for our in-house print shop servicing local companies.
Although print design has become dated over the years, my work at the Buffalo News left me with a foundation of design knowledge that I still tap in to today. I learned a ton about typography, information hierarchy, color theory, and how to meet expectations and deadlines. It was a large company and the sales team consisted of a lot of personalities, so collaboration was also important.
